As a child , I was always a little overweight. Not fat, mind you, just...plump. Husky. Big boned.

As an adult, my weight became a constant struggle, and by my early 30s, I hit 400 pounds. Something needed to be done, but I knew, I wouldn't be able to do it alone.

You see, like so many people who struggle with morbid obesity, I had tried every diet plan and exercise regimen known to mankind. I was an expert at losing weight. I just couldn't keep it off. For me, weight loss surgery was truly the only viable solution. I needed a skilled doctor to cut me open and completely rewire my plumbing, so my body would have no choice but to lose weight. It was the only way to save my life.

Problem was, weight loss surgery costs a lot of money. If I'd had to pay for my Roux en-Y Gastric Bypass out of my own pocket, it would have been more than $25,000. And, that didn't include the plastic surgery afterwards to remove 20 pounds of excess skin.

I needed weight loss surgery, but I couldn't afford it.

AUTHOR CRAIG B. THOMPSON

That's when I started to study the insurance industry, and find out exactly how I could get my weight loss surgery approved, no matter what. I learned the specific wording and precise documentation needed to prove that my treatment was medically necessary, and that it met the carrier's criteria for coverage. When my research was complete, I was finally able to have my surgery, because the carrier was going to pay!

Once the word got out that I had become an "expert" on the subject of insurance companies and getting weight loss surgery approved, my phone began to ring off the hook.

I was deluged with requests from people just like you and me who desperately wanted to save their lives and change their appearance but didn't have the $25,000 to $45,000 needed to pay for the procedure. Some of these people hadn't even approached their insurance companies because they had seen a direct "medical exclusion" concerning weight loss surgery in their policy, and others had attempted to get coverage approved but had been denied.

It quickly became apparent that I would never have the time to take each person by the hand and personally guide them through the process of getting their insurance company to change their mind, so I did the next best thing...

I wrote the definitive guide to getting your insurance company to say "Yes" to covering your weight loss surgery procedure, even if all you've been hearing is "No!".

Now, you can learn everything that I uncovered about getting insurance approval for weight loss surgery in a fraction of the time that it took me.
